Military victories will pave way to political solution - President

President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday reiterated that there is no point of discussing a political solution to the North East problem unilaterally without pushing the LTTE too to seek a political solution.

Indian Coast Guard to counter LTTE threat

The Indian Coast Guard is planning to set up an Air-Station in Tamil Nadu or Puducherry to deal with any threat from the LTTE, a top coastguard officer said in Mandapam.

Forces Chiefs to testify against Tigers in Australia

Sri Lanka's most senior military figures will give evidence against three Melbourne Tamils accused of raising money in Australia to fund a terrorism campaign in Sri Lanka. The trio - Aruran Vinayagamoorthy, Sivarajah Yathavan and Arumugam Rajeevan - have been committed to stand trial in the Victorian Supreme Court next year. They have pleaded not guilty.
