Repeated awarded winner Diamond Cutters celebrates 20

Diamond Cutters Limited (DCL), a well established diamond cutting and polishing company celebrated its 20th year anniversary recently at the company premises.

Diamond Cutters has a reputed name in the field of diamonds in Sri Lanka and abroad, as a trusted source to provide the requirements of the customers in the trade. Diamond Cutters started in 1987 December with 80 employees cutting and polishing diamonds for a Japanese customer.

DCL have been recognised as one of the leading factories in South East Asia engaged in the industry and have been rewarded with many prestigious standards and volumes achieved including the National Chamber of Exporters, National Chamber of Commerce and the Taiki Akimoto 5 S awards, etc.

The company specialises in tapers and baguettes as well as precision cut diamonds and over the years has also mastered the art of polishing Princess and Rounds cuts as well.

Apart from these the sawing of rough diamonds is also done. Major markets such as Switzerland, America, Belgium, Israel, India, Middle East, Australia, have been having the trust for a long time with the company.

DCL plans to expand with a new factory building to be constructed and the number of employees is to grow to 1200.

The building will be a state of the art facility where modern comforts will be available to workers through which a better product can be given to our customers.

Apart from the main factory building there is another facility which will be attended to simultaneously where it is planned to build a hostel facility for the employees who are from outstation which will have the capacity to accommodate 800 employees.

A daycare centre for the children of the employees is also under construction and will be completed soon. We have the opportunities open at a point where all are failing in this industry. We plan to be a better contributor to the national economy in a bigger way in the coming years” Director of Diamond Cutters Sanjay Baid said.
