Forces poised to destroy Tigers
The Sri Lankan military wants to destroy the
Tigers and conclude 25 years of war after the ceasefire ends today,
a military spokesman said yesterday. Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara
told Deutsche Presse-Agentur in Colombo that the military was
already putting pressure on the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam at
various fronts in the North.

The ceasefire Agreement signed on February 2,
2002 is to be terminated today when the Government decision to
abrogate it comes into effect. There is no doubt that it was
seriously flawed and gave the LTTE an undue advantage.
