Swadeshi sponsors Aloka Poojawa at Kelaniya
The Swadeshi Industrial Works Ltd. was the sponsor of the Aloka
Poojawa of the Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya which coincided with the
annual Duruthu Perahera of the temple for the ninth consecutive year.
Chairperson of Swadeshi Amari Wijewardene, commented that sponsoring
the Aloka Poojawa of the sacred temple Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya
demonstrates Swadeshi’s commitment to keeping the country’s heritage and
traditional values alive.
“Being a 100 percent Sri Lankan company, at a time like this, we
believe it is our duty to safeguard our country’s unique identity”, she
said.
The Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya was built as a monument to the third
and final visit of Lord Buddha to Sri Lanka. Built in the reign of King
Kirthi Sri Rajasinghe, this temple is a place of one of the four
guardian gods of Sri Lanka - God Vibishana.
The Swadeshi Industrial Works Ltd., is the pioneer of herbal beauty
