LTTE claymore kills 13 civilians in Welioya

LTTE terrorists took yet another civilian target for the third consecutive day yesterday, detonating a claymore mine targeting a civilian bus plying from Parakaramapura to Janakapura killing 13 people and injuring 17, Military and Police said yesterday.

LTTE activity under control - Karunanidhi

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi Monday stated that activities deemed to be sympathetic to the LTTE were under control in his state. "All suggestions pointing to our allowing the apologists of the LTTE to have a free run in Tamil Nadu are untrue," he said.

Explosion near Mount Lavinia transformer

An explosion close to a transformer at Alwis Place, Mount Lavinia yesterday morning caused minor damages to several houses and the transformer. No one was injured, Police said.
