Accelerated road repair programme

An accelerated road improvement programme is underway in the Kirinda-Puhulwella Pradeshiya Sabha division under the Maga Neguma development concept of the Mahinda Chintana.

The laying of concrete on the Malwatugoda-Welangoda road from the Kamburupitiya main highway, Galkanda - Puwakwatta, Naradha - Rathnayake, Kubalgoda - Naradha, Punchidiketiya - Wellegewatugoda, Watukolakanda-Akkarawisipaha, Pahaladeniya-Pahalawatta roads and Samana Mulla road, Naradha Temple road, Watukolakanda main road, Akkaraseeya road and Mahawatta roads are included in the proposed rural road improvement projects, said Kirinda - Puhulwella Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman, Sanath Hettiarachchi.

In addition work on the construction of the proposed Watukolakanda-Horakuttiya electricity project, completion of building work on the educational, cultural and sports centre in Kirinda-Puhulwella and also construction of side walls and culverts on the Seelarathana Mawatha are under way under the Maga Neguma development programme.

According to Hettiarachchi Malwatugoda, Ayurveda Medical Centre road, Galkanda-Egodagedara-Borella hill road, Galkanda-School Avenue, Puhulwella West - Welangoda Bodhiya road, Puhulwella East- Wickramanayake - Parthenagoda road, Kubulgoda-Weerakoongahawatta road, Watukolakanda Sumudu Place, Welipothehena road, Naradha-Pinwatta road, Ovitigamuwa-Ambagahawa and several other roads are being improved.
