Twenty Security Forces personnel including seven airwomen who had undergone the basic airborne course held at the Sri Lanka Air Force Base, Katunayake passed out yesterday at Katunayake. This was the first time in the history of the Sri Lanka Armed Forces that women underwent parachute training. Thushari Dilrukshi of the Sri Lanka Air Force took paratrooper wings for the first time in Sri Lanka Armed Forces history.

Air Force destroys key Tiger target

Combined LTTE ops/Sea Tiger training base targeted:

Sri Lanka Air Force fighter jets yesterday carried out air raids targeting the forward operations centre and a Sea Tiger training centre in Nayaru, Mullaitivu, Air Force Spokesman Wing Commander Andi Wijesuriya said. The SLAF fighter jets pounded the target around 8.30 am yesterday.

CRIB to blacklist phone customers

New laws to benefit service providers:

All utility providers including telecommunication providers will be able to subscribe to the CRIB, its sources said. This new development will come into force with the passing of the amendment to the Credit Information Bureau Act, which is now applicable only to banks, leasing and finance companies in the country.
