Arpico, Peradeniya University introduce Industrial Training through
Arpiclub
Richard Pieris & Co. recently launched “The Arpiclub” in Akuressa
with the support of the engineering staff of the University of
Peradeniya to take technical and industrial training to remote and
grassroots levels of Sri Lanka.
The Club was launched as a result of the success and the increasing
demand for the training conducted by Richard Pieris Distributors for
industrial and technical professionals since last year.
The Arpiclub membership is open to plumbers, water pump technicians,
painters and electricians, who perform day-to-day household tasks in our
society yet lack opportunities and forums to obtain training, acquire
new skills and gather the latest industry knowledge.
Any technician who wishes to become a member of The Arpi Club can
make a written request through the area managers and sales
representatives of Richard Pieris Distributors in his respective area.
A spokesperson for Richard Pieris Distributors said, “Formation of
The Arpiclub is the climax of a simple journey we started last August
with the Engineering Design Centre (EDC) of the Peradeniya University,
Faculty of Engineering last August, by offering training to a group of
technicians on advanced plumbing techniques.
As a result of the overwhelming response we got from the participants
and industry personnel we thought we should take this to a more
organised level.
As further value addition to this programme the Engineering Design
Centre of the University of Peradeniya has introduced a three day
comprehensive training programme for technicians which includes
laboratory training as well.
