Bambalapitiya’s ‘Phantom Robber’ nabbed

BAMBALAPITIYA: A special police squad attached to the Bambalapitiya Police arrested the “Phantom Robber” who had been breaking into several flats in the Bambalapitiya Housing Complex.

The special Police squad recovered several stolen items including a laptop, two cameras and gold jewellery.

Residents of Bambalapitiya flats said several houses had been broken into by the robber when inmates were out.

According to residents, the robber entered the house during the day time.

The suspect will be produced before court today. Colombo South ASP Palitha Siriwardena is directing investigations assisted by Chief Inspector Abeyratne Dissanayake, OIC, Bambalapitiya Police, Inspector S.M.A. Bandara, OIC, CDB with PC Lasantha of the Bambalapitiya Police.
