Unite to alleviate LTTE propaganda, Minister tells Lankans abroad
Sri Lankans abroad should make aware leaders of those countries about
the LTTE's barbaric activities and the sufferings Sri Lankans have to
undergo due to the 30-year conflict, Healthcare and Nutrition Minister
Nimal Siripala de Silva said.
De silva who is Chairman of the Committee of International Activities
of the SLFP addressing the establishment of a SLFP political wing in
Frankfurt, Germany on Saturday said surveys have revealed that President
Mahinda Rajapaksa is the most popular leader in Sri Lanka and his
opponents attempt to defeat him is a dream.
"Some label the LTTE as an unbeatable organisation but today they are
retreating unable to face attacks by the Security Forces," the Minister
said.
"The LTTE is trying to win international community sympathy by
spreading rumours. All Sri Lankans have a duty to organise campaigns to
reveal the reality to the international community."
"The SLFP political wing established in Frankfurt too has a similar
duty to perform for the country's sake," De Silva said.
More then 300 Sri Lankans were present at Ramada Hotel Frankfurt,
Germany to participate in the meeting.
