New technology for cost effective houses
Mahaweli Systems correspondent
The Urban Development and Sacred Area Development Ministry has
introduced a range of technologies that would benefit low income
families.
Architects of the 'Arunodaya' programme aimed at providing houses to
low income people have designed several housing models using these
technologies.
The new technologies lead to cut down building material cost, they
said.
Following the Arunodaya programme co-ordinators' instructions, one
can build a house with two rooms, a kitchen, a living room and a small
corridor in a 550 square feet land at Rs. 275,000, said Rupasena
Kandanaarachchi, Programme Co-ordinator Urban Development and Sacred
Area Development Ministry. |
