SC allows NTT sale of SLT shares

The Supreme Court yesterday terminated the rights application against the sale of shares held by Japanese NTT Communication Corporation in the Sri Lanka Telecom allowing the NTT to sell its entirety of 35.2% of SLT shares to the GTH Malaysia subject to certain conditions.

SriLankan carries 3.2 million passengers in 2007

SriLankan Airlines carried 3.2 million passengers around its global network in 2007, an increase of more than 100,000 over the previous year. It was the largest number of passengers carried by the airline in a calendar year since its inception in 1979.

Asian Alliance Insurance PLC marked another successful year recording a profit of Rs. 114 mn before tax and Rs. 113 mn after tax for the year 2007 recording a 60 per cent growth over the previous year.
