A Cadet delegation from Sri Lanka left for Bangladesh under the guidance of Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa on an invitation by the Bangladesh National Cadet Corps under the youth exchange programme of the SAARC countries. Here the delegation with Major General G.B.W. Jayasundara RWP RSP Director National Cadet Corps at the NCC Headquarters before they left the country. The delegation comprises Lt. Col H.P.G.A. Alwis, CSUO TC Piyaratna from Kandy, CSUO R.D.H.M. Ariyaratna from Ibbagamuwa, CSUO, T.W.H. Lakshika from Ruwawella and CSUO W.H.I. Ruwinika from Horana.


TNA withdraws from EP poll at Prabhakaran's instance

LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran has ordered Tiger proxy TNA not to contest the upcoming Provincial Council elections in the Eastern Province. He issued this order when TNA Parliamentarians were attending the funeral of slain colleague Sivanesan.
