LTTE terrorists gun down two villegers

Two people aged 17 and 62, who had gone to collect firewood have been shot dead allegedly by a group of LTTE terrorists. The incident had occurred at Galayaya, Nochchiyagama on Wednesday.

"The hallmarks of a terrorist attack are there," Nochchiyagama OIC Police R.M.S. Kumarasinghe said.

Villagers have noticed the movements of a group of unidentified persons several days ago.

On a directing by the DIG/NCP, a combined operation by the Army, Police or Civil Defence Force has been launched.
