JVP MP re-remanded

COLOMBO: Colombo Additional Magistrate Giyan Ranawaka yesterday re-remanded JVP Parliamentarian Jayantha Wijesekara who was taken into custody earlier in connection with an incident of forcibly removing vehicles which were parked in the Parliamentary garage.

Jayantha Wijesekara and two drivers were remanded by the Magistrate until April 21, when the Welikada Police objected them being granted bail.

Although Ranjith Caldera, the counsel appearing for Wijesekara pleaded for bail, Welikada Police objected stating that the investigations were not completed in connection with the incident.

Three of them would be produced for an identification parade on or before April 21.
