Lanka, Kenya sign air services agreement
Recent negotiations held between Sri Lanka and Kenyan Aviation
Authorities in Nairobi have provided more liberal access for air
services between the two countries.
Both parties agreed to enter into a new Air Services Agreement in
keeping with the developments in the aviation industry to replace the
existing Bilateral Air Services agreement initiated on July 18.
Under the new arrangements, frequency of passenger operations by
airlines of both countries have increased from the existing one flight
per week to unlimited, in respect of end to end Traffic Rights (Direct
Flight) using any type of aircraft with unrestricted capacity.
Both countries would also be able to designate more than one carrier
on such services. Before the negotiations there was no provision to
operate cargo flights. |
