Army Chief shows gratitude to Jaffna soldiers
Army Commander Lieutenant General Sarath Fonseka, taking his own New
Year greetings and wishes to hundreds of Army Officers and Other Ranks
in the Jaffna peninsula flew to Jaffna Tuesday morning.
He, as chief of the Army troops wanted to personally extend his
wishes to all those who stay back for operational duties during the
festive season without visiting their loved ones for the traditional
festival.
The Army Commander was received by Commander Security Forces
Headquarters-Jaffna (SFHQ-J) Major General G.A. Chandrasiri at the
Palaly airstrip. He was afterwards conducted to the SFHQ-J auditorium
where he met senior ground commanders and received an update on the
security situation.
He thanked all of them for their dedication and commitment for the
cause at a time when the country was celebrating the New Year. |
