Mahindians get swimming pool

A new swimming pool built at Galle Mahinda College at a cost of Rs. 15 million under a programme funded by the Wushby Lions Club of England will be commissioned today at 4 pm.

Media Minister, Lakshman Yapa Abeywardene, Social Services and Social Welfare Deputy Minister Lionel Premasiri, Parliamentarian Vajira Abeywardena and former Parliamentarian Ananda Kularatne will be the chief guests.

Lion Sarath de Fonseka, Lion Dr. Senarath Rekogama, Lion Epaliyana and Mahinda Principal L.C. Karunaratne will grace the occasion as chief guest.

“This facility has been provided to Mahinda College to mark its 116th anniversary and the 128th anniversary of the advent of its founder Late Henry Steele Olcott to Sri Lanka, said Mahinda OBA, Secretary Lion Epaliyana at a press conference at the Unawatuna Beach Hotel.
