Business magnate Nahil Wijesuriya and related parties will invest US$ 20 million for a budget airline, which will initially fly to sub continental routes.

Lankan Printers to go overseas

Sri Lankan printers are looking at securing more orders from India, Africa and Australia to broaden their overseas horizons. President, Sri Lanka Association of Printers, Kosala Thilakarathne said an inter state duty that was in India had now been removed which has made exports easier.

Local machinery for rural SME development: The SME Machinery Exhibition 2008 was held at the BMICH last week for the third consecutive year.The exhibition was themed “Technology for Rural, Micro and SME Development. Over hundred stalls showcased advanced machinery, ancillary equipment, processes, and latest technology required for SMEs during the four days. The exhibition was organised by SMED which is a project of the Federation Chambers of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with the Ministry Industrial Development.
