Thenuwara family bags President's Trophy

The Thenuwara family clinched the President's Trophy at the marathon race by obtaining 32 points in the Sinhala new year celebrations organised by the Sri Lanka Association of Bangladesh which was held recently at the International School of Dhaka grounds. Basundhara Bangladesh.

The High Commissioner of Sri Lanka V. Krishnamoorthy and Mrs. Krishnamoorthy who were a tower of strength in supporting this event were the Chief Guests.

More than 43 events were worked off during the day which includes marathon (open), tug of war (men & women) and a host of Sri Lanka New Year traditional events. Several Sri Lankan families residing in Bangladesh took part in these events.

The Thenuwara family who bagged the President's Trophy comprised four members: Kusal Thenuwara (father), Inisha (mother), Keswa (son) and Sayani (daughter) who came first in marathon, the only family who scored an overall points of 32.
