Donations for earthquake victims

HSBC announces that contributions to its HSBC China Earthquake Relief account have surpassed the RMB8 million the Bank has committed to match public and employee donations. Public donations to HSBC's dedicated account for donation collections have now reached RMB99.7 million (HK$113 million).

HSBC has now pledged a total of RMB18 million to support the massive recovery work required in the affected areas in mainland China.

The total comprises an initial RMB10 million donation from the Hongkong Bank Foundation, plus an additional RMB8 million contribution to match donations from the public. All donations collected by HSBC will be made through the Hong Kong branch of the Red Cross Society of China.
