Forces capture strategic Tiger base

Security Forces engaged in liberating the Wanni front marked another victory when they advanced towards the Tiger front lines on Thursday evening and captured one of the LTTE’s strategic bases “Munnagam” in Janakapura, Weli Oya on Thursday afternoon.

UN humanitarian chief condemns attacks on civilians

The United Nations’ top humanitarian official condemned the continuing targeting of civilians during fighting in Sri Lanka, saying that more than 200 civilian lives have been lost since the beginning of the year, a UN press release said.
