between the two wildlife reserves of Moragolla and Kahalla-Pallekele
because those giant mammals cannot easily infiltrate into their villages
as earlier owing to the fence.
The happy villagers have a complaint they are of the opinion that a
herd of wild elephants is stranded in certain forest area being unable
to return to their natural habitat in 'Kahalla-Pallekele'.
The electrified fence, which is about 30 kilometres long, has
recently been erected by the North Central Provincial Council with
financial assistance of 'Plan Sri Lanka', a voluntary development
