The revered Statue of Our Lady of Madhu was conveyed to the cleared area of Mannar by Catholic Church officials on Tuesday. Two Priests and three nuns accompanied the statue through Omanthai from Thevanpiddi to Wellankulam, North of Mannar where it was kept. The Sacred Statue was taken to the Mannar Bishop’s House from Vellankulam. Here Mannar Bishop Rayappu Joseph paying homage to the statue.

Clear UNP, LTTE nexus bared - Minister

Agriculture Development and Agrarian Services Minister Maithreepala Sirisena said yesterday that the political bankruptcy of the UNP was obvious through the suggestion to accept the unilateral ceasefire of the LTTE.
