CCC now a Business Superbrand

Superbrands paid tribute to their latest line up of Business Superbrands at a prestigious Tribute Event where the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce became the first Chamber of Commerce to be awarded Business Superbrand status.

The awards were handed out by Superbrands International Chief Operating Officer, Steve Dodgson.

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce was recognised with this prestigious status due to its untiring and committed efforts in many fields.

Chief among them are the projects that have gained recognition, such as the Ten Best Corporate Citizen Awards, the Sri Lanka Economic Summit, Promotion of Eco-Efficient Productivity project, GTZ supported SAARC and Trade promotion projects, Rain Forest Ecolodge, Career Guidance project, the Sri Lanka Norway Industrial Co-operation (matchmaking) programme, IMEXPRO, and SME guidance.

The servicing of trade associations and bilateral business councils, being the only chamber in South Asia with ISO 9001:2000 quality management system certification and winning the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka Annual Report Awards in the ‘Not for Profit organizations’ category, in addition to the key activities of the Chamber, are among the reasons for the Ceylon Chamber being selected for this honour.

Its key activities include lobbying on behalf of the private sector, trade and investment promotion, conducting commodity auctions, information services and online databases, assigning product identification numbers (bar codes), policy advocacy and research, issuing letters of introduction/certificates of origin/ registration of commercial documents, organizing conventions/seminar/ workshops, quality surveys for exports, organizing trade fairs/exhibitions and trade delegations, assisting foreign investors in sourcing business partners, a reference and lending library, management and implementation of projects for the benefit of the business community and publishing trade bulletins and other publications.
