The Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri
Lanka (SEC) will be consulting all registered companies and relevant
stakeholders to impose a minimum bar on funds to be managed by a
fund manager/investment manager for any investor or a client in line
with market requirements.

Maskeliya Plantations records profit of Rs. 52 mn in 1Q
Maskeliya Plantations PLC recorded a robust
turnover of Rs. 776 mn for the first quarter ending June 2008 which
was a 31% increase over the corresponding period in the previous
year. Estate level Gross Profit improved by 122% to Rs. 121 mn
whilst Profit from Operations after Management Fee increased by 319%
to Rs. 71 mn.
