Food poisoning hospitalises soldiers

POLONNARUWA: At least 230 trainee soldiers were admitted to Polonnaruwa hospital following food poisoning. Five were airlifted to Ampara hospital yesterday morning.

Military spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara said several soldiers at the Sandunpura Army training camp in Henanigala were admitted to hospital due to food poisoning immediately after breakfast. A full scale of investigation was launched to ascertain the cause of the incident.
