SLAF raids major Tiger targets in Wanni

Sri Lankan Air Force fighter jets yesterday carried out successful missions targeting LTTE facilities in Kilinochchi, Mullaitivu and Pooneryn. A terrorist gathering position east of Nachchikudha, Kilinochchi was targeted at 2.10 p.m. The air strike was made in support of advancing 58 Division troops, operating in the western Wanni battlefront, Air Force Spokesperson Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara said.

Route permits of 34 private buses axed

Minister instructs NTC to continue raids:

COLOMBO: The National Transport Commission (NTC) cancelled route permits of 34 long distance private buses following a special raid in July. The bus crew had violated NTC rules and regulations and failed to provide a quality and safe journey to commuters, sources said.
