Warangana shines at 'Wave swimming'

Warangana Thantirimalage, a young swimming star hailing from the Maliyadeva Balika MV, Kurunegala proved her class at the Wave Swimming Competition 2008 which was held at the Hotel Mario Swimming Pool, Wennappuwa. She emerged champion in five events at the competition and was named the best swimmer in the Under-14 girls' category.

She won the Girls' 50m backstroke, 50m butterfly, 100m Individual medley, 25mx4 free style relay and 25mx4 medley relay. The competition was organized by the Wave Water Sports Club, Wennappuwa.
