School games from today

Sampath BANDARA

Over 5000 athletes from 1004 schools from all parts of the island will participate in the All Island School Games, which starts today (26) at the Sugathadasa Stadium.

All Island School Games held for five days will continue to 30th Sept.

473 athletes from Northern Province and 548 athletes from Eastern Province are competing in this games.

The Opening Ceremony of this games is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. with Minister of Higher Education Prof. Wiswa Warnapala as chief guest.

Closing ceremony will be held on Tuesday at 1.30 p.m. under the patronage of Nirmala Kotalawala, Minister of Education Services.
