Forum on advertising and media

The Sri Lanka Press Institute (SLPI) is organising an open discussion on "Advertising, Media and Misguiding the Public" on October 06 at 5 p.m. in the SLPI Auditorium, 96, Kirula Road, Colombo 05. Those interested are invited to attend.

The Speakers will be Sundara Nihathamani de Mel, Editor-in-Chief, Irida Lakbima and Damma Dissanayake, Senior Lecturer, Department of Political Science and Public Policy, University of Colombo. The session will be chaired by Ariyananda Dombagahawatta, Editor-in-Chief, Irida Lankadeepa.

The forum will discuss the recent Sakvithi episode and the role of media in this case. This will focus on the advertising policies and the social responsibilities of media in the context of public information.
