Sports Minister calls for a report from rugby selectors

The Minister of Sports and Public Recreation Gamini Lokuge who met the Chairman of the National Sports Council, officials of the SLRFU and members of the National Selection Committee requested the selectors to submit him a report on the criteria on which the Sri Lanka captain for the Chinese Taipei tour was selected.

He also urged the Kandy SC players who are not attending practices to bring their grievances to the notice of the National Sports Council Chairman Dr. Maiya Gunasekera.

The Minister said that he was confident that he could resolve the dispute through discussion to the satisfaction of all so that Sri Lanka could field their best possible side at the four nation tournament.
