Regional Engineering Summit in Sri Lanka
The 37th Executive Council Meeting and the 12th General Assembly of
the Federation of Engineering Institutions of South and Central Asia (FEISCA)
are scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka tomorrow.
The Executive Council will meet in the morning at the BMICH and the
General Assembly will follow at the same venue in the afternoon.
The Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka, (IESL) is hosting both
meetings that are held concurrently with the Annual Sessions of the IESL.
Apex Engineering Institutions in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri
Lanka hold membership of the FEISCA.
The need of a regional federation of institutions that are engaged in
engineering education and training was first felt at a UNESCO sponsored
meeting held in Paris in 1971. After deliberations by stakeholders for
ten years, the FEISCA took shape at Dhaka in 1981.
The Federation is engaged in fostering co-operation and exchange
information among its member-countries, studying problems concerning the
education, training and continuing education of engineers.
