Club team for Hong Kong Sixes

Meanwhile the SLC Interim Committee are in a quandary over the selection of the Sri Lanka team for the upcoming annual Hong Kong six a side tournament which will be staged on November 8 and 9 at the Kowloon Cricket Club grounds.

Sri Lanka are the reigning champions of this popular event but the SLC Interim Committee are planning to send a domestic club side to represent the country as the financial benefits are mainly for the individual players and not for the Board.

Last year Sri Lanka emerged champions by defeating a star studded All Stars team led by former Australia spinner Shane Warne by 16 runs to signal their maiden victory in eleven visits to the sixes.

This year too Sri Lanka have been drawn in the same group along with the All Stars team with Australia and the hosts Hong Kong competing the line up.
