Thurstan College were sitting pretty at the end of day one in their
inter-school under 19 cricket tournament match against Prince of Wales'
College, Moratuwa.
Thurstanites winning the toss and invited Cambrians to take the first
lease and their gamble worked off when Cambrian wickets fell at regular
intervals without score board moving. At one stage Cambrians were
reeling with 77 for 7 and some resistance came from the bats of Malshan
Mendis 25 and Thushara Alwis unbeaten on 32 runs and Cambrians were all
out for 154 runs. Ravindu Wijeratne took 3 for 28.
Thurstan were 157 for 4 at the close on first day with Shehan
Kamaleen 47 and Nuwan Darshana 51 runs.
