Fisheries Expo from today

The first ever International Fisheries Expo Sri Lanka 2008, an
International Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Exhibition organised by
Ministry of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources in collaboration with the
Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka will be held
at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre from November 7 to 9.
The exhibition will open doors to all stakeholders connected with
traditional and modern innovative of the Fishery Industry at
international level.
Launching of a website on the Fishery Industry will also take place
at the first day of the exhibition.
Organisers hope the participation of technology and service
providers, investors, specialists in the field, donor agencies and
policy makers.
This would provide an opportunity to make use of their knowledge to
develop the country's fishery industry, sources said.
The exhibition includes updated technology in the fishery industry
and auxiliary industries such as fishing gear, boat and yatch builders,
suppliers of packaging materials and accessories, fishing net
manufacturers, suppliers of refrigerator and aquaculture technology
systems.
Free seminars on topics related with the fisheries industry in Sea
Bass Culture, Fresh Water Prawn Culture and Ornamental Fish Culture also
will be held during the exhibition.
