Productivity promotion drive in SMEs
The National Productivity Secretariat which comes under the Ministry
of Labour Relations and Manpower will conduct a productivity promotion
programme in SME's with the collaboration of Asian Productivity
Organisation, Japan and Productivity Center for Socio-Economic
Development (JPC-SED).
The main purpose of this programme is to develop model companies. The
main areas focused are productivity promotion, consultancy and training.
The project duration is nine months.
Under this project five model companies have already been selected
for the pilot project.
The selected companies are: Lumbini Tea Factory, Deniyaya, Sierra
Redymix, Panagoda, Polymer Products, Panadura, Convenience Foods
(Lanka), Ratmalana and Bopitiya Auto Enterprises, Pamunugama.
The second technical expert visit will be held from November 10 to
15. On this visit Director-Technical Cooperation, International
Department of JPC Y. Inoue and Consultant, JPC-SED K. Yo have been
participate as a resource persons for provide consultancy together with
the National Productivity Secretariat. |
