Three shot dead by Tigers

The LTTE gunned down two Civil Security Forces (CSF) and a Police Constable yesterday afternoon in Kohilaela area, Ampara while injuring another CSF.

Military spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara said the two Civil Security Forces and the PC were shot dead by the LTTE who stormed the area in Kohilaela, Tampitiya yesterday at around 1.40pm.

"Police and the CSF were providing security for farmers harvesting paddy fields, when a group of Tigers stormed the area and fired indiscriminately.

The LTTE cadres fled the area after firing," Brigadier Nanayakkara added. He said the injured CSF was admitted to the MahaOya hospital.
