Senaweera leaves for Australia
Sunil Senaweera a product from Gampola Football League who rose to be
a FIFA qualified referee after hanging the boots, has become the first
Sri Lankan and Asian to be the Match Commissioner for the forthcoming
Asian Champions League final to be played in Adelaide, Australia on
November 12.
Senaweera who represented his home town Club Red Sun SC, later took
up the job as a referee. This he did with dedication and rose to the
rank Referee Inspector after officiating for over 60 international games
out of the country.
His experience as a player and referee put him further up in the
ladder to take top positions in the FFSL and rose to the rank of
Secretary General FFSL in the year 2002 and served till 2005.
He also has served as Match Commissioner for over fifty international
matches in the Asian Region. He is due to leave the island today for
Australia. |
