Excel: Laugfs Leisure Limited has taken over the management of Emerald Bay Hotel and Temple Tree Resorts and Spa in the Induruwa area.

Director CEO, Laugfs Leisure Limited Harsha Gamage said the company is now looking at consolidating their hotel portfolio.

"It was due to this that I came to the WTM and met several operators who are ready to market these two properties," he said.

Emerald Bay Hotel is a property with 50 air conditioned rooms with satellite TV, tea making facilities and minibar and is a three star property. All rooms are facing the sea at two levels thus some rooms offering the balconies and the others with sit outs.

The Temple Tree Resorts and Spa is an up market property which consists of ten spacious designer rooms with open concept wash rooms, pool with built in Jacuzzi made of natural stone and also a spa in each room specialising in inventive interpretations of Asian treatments. All rooms are Internet enabled with Wi-Fi. "Since we have two types of properties which make marketing easier," he said.

The hotel built by foreigners recently is also a popular honeymoon destination for both local and foreign guests.

He also said that the hotel built in Chilaw too would be ready by next winter. "The parent company Laugfs Holdings has invested over Rs. 500 million for this project," he said.

This would be a 24 room luxury hotel located close to the lagoon.

"We are now looking building small luxury band and are also looking at more investment opportunities both locally and in the region and in Australia where there is a Laugfs presence is there" he said.
