Ceylon Chamber wins SAFA awards
The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce created history once again by being
the only Chamber of Commerce to win a much coveted award for best
presented accounts at the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA)
Awards held in New Delhi recently.
The Chamber’s 2007 Annual Report walked away with the Bronze Award in
the Not-for-Profit category at this ceremony, considered a benchmark
among companies in the South Asian Region.
SAFA is the apex body of the accountancy profession in the SAARC
region and has actively promoted the bringing together of the accounting
bodies in the region to facilitate co-operation in areas of education,
training, technical and ethical standards.
The Chamber’s winning streak continued when the Chamber bagged the
gold award in the Not-for-Profit category, for the second consecutive
year, at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL)
Annual Report Awards held at Cinnamon Grand.
Among the Chamber’s recent achievements in its 169 history include
being the only Chamber of Commerce to gain Business Superbrand status. |
