Malinga Pushpakumara bowls Saracens to victory

Left arm spinner Malinga Pushpakumara took a match bag of eleven wickets for 123 runs to help Saracens SC beat Lankan CC outright by five wickets in their rain hit SLC Premier League Tier B tournament match concluded at Reid Avenue yesterday.

Lankan CC trailing by 97 runs on the first innings were dismissed for 216 in their second innings with Malinga Pushpakumara and Prabath Priyankara causing most of the damage.

Lankan CC: 204 and 216 (T. Rajaratna 34, D. de Saram 32, H. Tillekeratne 50, M. Pushpakumara 6 for 65, P. Priyankara 4 for 45).

Saracens SC: 301 and 119 for 5 (P. Silva 50, C. Silva 24 n.o, C. Perera 3 for 50).

Police in five wicket win

Sri Lanka Police Sports Club overcame the present bad weather conditions to beat Singha Sports Club Ambalangoda outright by five wickets in their rain hit SLC Premier League Tier B tournament match concluded at the Police Park yesterday.

Middle order batsman Supun Nirmala scored a splendid 116 in Police SC's first innings total of 248 and successfully dismissed their opponents for 140 and 155 in their two innings respectively.

Singha SC: 140 and 155.

Police SC: 248 (S. Nirmala 116, M. Priyadarshana 37, A. Mendis 23, S. Perera 4 for 67, S. Vithana 2 for 58) and 46 for 5 (S. Silva 2 for 8).

Sudeera - a five wicket haul

Spinner Sudeera de Soysa took a superb five wicket haul but Moratuwa SC had to be satisfied with a first innings victory over Sri Lanka Air Force SC in their rain hit SLC Premier League Tier B tournament match concluded at Rifle Green yesterday.

Moratuwa SC: 155 and 252.

Air Force SC: 113 and 170 for 6 (M. Warnapura 36, S. Madanayake 35 n.o, A. Eranga 30, M. Fernando 34, S. de Soysa 5 for 56).

Tamil Union fall short

Former Sri Lanka under 19 captain Ashan Priyanjan hit a fluent half century but Tamil Union fell short by 41 runs from pulling off an outright victory over Sri Lanka Army SC in their rain curtailed SLC Premier League Tier A tournament match concluded at Panagoda yesterday.

Army SC: 179 and 200 (M. de Soysa 67, S. Prasanna 41, A. Prasad 30, S. Lakmal 3 for 37, S. Chaturanga 2 for 38, M. Pushpakumara 2 for 20).

Tamil Union: 225 and 113 for 5 (S. Fernando 37, A. Priyanjan 53, S. Perera 4for 37).

Only three balls bowled

Only three deliveries were possible on the final day due to bad weather as Bloomfield settled for a first innings victory over the defending champions SSC in their SLC Premier League Tier A tournament match concluded at Maitland Place yesterday.

SSC: 233 and 1 for no loss.

Bloomfield: 257

Only one over possible

Only one over was possible on the final day due to bad weather as Colts CC had to be content with a first innings victory over Chilaw Marians SC in their SLC Premier League Tier A tournament match concluded at Havelock Park yesterday.

Chilaw Marians SC: 253 Colts CC: 273 for 5.

CCC's hopes dashed

CCC's hopes of an outright victory was dashed as heavy rain completely washed out the third and final days play in their SLC Premier League Tier A tournament match against Baduraliya CC which concluded at Maitland Crescent yesterday.

Baduraliya CC: 244

CCC: 343 for 2.

NCC thwarted

NCC's hopes of forcing an outright victory over Moors SC was shattered as only two deliveries were possible due to heavy rain on the final day of their SLC Premier League Tier A tournament match concluded at Maitland Place yesterday.

Moors SC: 36 and 135 for 6.

NCC: 287 for 9.

Rain a spoiler

Only one over was possible on the third and final day due to bad weather as Seeduwa Raddoluwa SC took first innings points over BRC in their SLC Premier League Tier B tournament match concluded at Havelock Park yesterday.

Seeduwa RSC: 359 and 7 for no loss.

BRC: 245
