stimulative economic package to the consumers to ensure best
performance in the commercial agriculture, industrial and services
sectors, in the form of a ‘mini budget’ to benefit the entire
country in 2009 that dawns tomorrow.

Govt intervenes to stabilise economy
President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday assured
the nation that the Government would take all possible steps to
stabilise the nation’s economy whenever there occurred a financial
crisis. “That was a step we have already proved by intervening in
