UNPers express support to President

Several UNP stalwarts of Matale, Kandy and Nuwaraeliya have expressed their willingness to join hands with the UPFA, former Central Province Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayake said at a meeting at Kubiangoda, Matale recently.

He said the group consists of senior UNP politician and Municipal and Urban Council representatives who are of the opinion that the war could only be ended if the President remains in office uninterrupted. Subordinated forces too should extend support to make the position of the President more consolidated, they said.
