Troops poised for final battle
The Security Forces in the final phase of the
battle with the LTTE, had speedy progress yesterday with all Army
Divisions advancing from South to North direction reached closer to
Paranthan – Mullaitivu A-35 road confining the LTTE into a limited
area in the North of A-35 road, Military sources told the Daily News

Navy destroys four Tiger boats
The Navy destroyed four LTTE boats during a
battle, northeast of Mullaitivu sea on Monday night and foiled the
Tigers’ attempt to flee. The battle continued until yesterday
morning.
Police bury 33 unclaimed LTTE bodies
Bodies of 38 LTTE cadres killed in the Vanni
battlefield and recovered by the Security Forces had been buried at
a public cemetery in Vavuniya yesterday since the LTTE did not claim
the corpses.
