Swimmers to stay at Stadium Hotel

On the advice of Minister of Sports and Public Recreation, Gamini Lokuge and Minister of Agriculture Development and Agrarian Services Development Maithripala Sirisena the President of the Interim Committee of Sri Lanka Aquatic Sport Union (SLASU) all outstation swimmers who will swim at the Novices Swimming Championships will be provided free accommodation at the Sugathadasa Stadium Sports Hotel.

Kiran Atapattu, the Secretary Treasurer of the Interim committee of SLASU who is also the secretary of the Rugby Football Union of Sri Lanka Interim Committee told the Daily News that this is the first occasion that schoolchildren from the outstations will be provided free accommodation during a swimming meet.

According to Kiran Atapattu, the outstation swimmers have been in-formed in this regard.

Kiran also added that over 1000 swimmers both boys and girls will take part in all normal events in five age categories.

The meet will be held from February 18 to 21.
