First innings win for Madeena

Madeena Central College, Madawala, scored an easy first innings win over Wicrkemabahu Central College, Gampola, in their inter school cricket match concluded at Gampola on Tuesday.

Highlight of the match was a good innings of 99 by N. Hisham with 14 fours and 2 sixes and was unfortunate to have missed his hundred going for a big hit. He was associated in a fourth wicket stand of 180 with Mohamed Suhail who made 80 with 10 fours and 2 sixes. Madeena Central could have won their match outright but they did not enforce the follow on after having gained a first innings lead of 155 but opted to bat the second time.

Wickremabahu Central College 158 all out in 54 overs (S. Malinga 50, H. Malinga 27, S. Nawala 23, S. M. Suhail 4 for 51, M. Manazir 2 for 20, M. R. M. Razeen 2 for 77) and 83 for 1 in 23 overs (Harsha Malinga 43 not out, S. Amila 27 not out)
