Thilan’s wife waits for hubby’s return

Erandathie Samaraweera, wife of Sri Lanka’s double century hero Thilan Samaraweera was in tears on hearing that her husband was injured in the terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team at Lahore yesterday morning.

“I can’t say anything,” sobbed Erandathie, in a shaky voice full of emotion,” she told the Daily News over the telephone. The 31-year old SSC and Sri Lankan batsman on Tuesday became the toast of the Sri Lanka team when he struck his second successive double century for back to back feats at that level in a 600-plus first inning total against Pakistan in the second Test match at Lahore which was called off following the terrorist attack.

Erandathie was anxiously awaiting for the return of her husband who was injured in his leg and had been hospitalised.
