WP has placed enormous faith in the Government

Leader of the Mahajana Eksath Peramuna and Urban and Sacred Area Development Minister Dinesh Gunawardena said people in the Western Province have placed enormous faith in the Government and the President who is dedicated to see country free from separatism and terrorism.

People in the Western Province have strengthened the hands of the President who has committed himself for the development of country by eliminating the scourge of terrorism. They have stood up for the country at this decisive juncture when the UNP and JVP are orchestrating a malicious and baseless propaganda campaign.

Nearly one fourth of the country’s population is in the Western Province and the election victory implies the public opinion across the country, the Minister said. The economic issues raised by the UNP and its allies have been rejected by the overwhelming mandate given by the people in the Province.

The UNP has received an unprecedented defeat from the urban and suburban areas in the country.

“We salute the people who voted for the UPFA. Their timely decision has led to a stable administration in the Western Province.”
