Beach VB trials on May 3

The trials to pick the men and women's beach volleyball teams for the forthcoming Lusafornia Games will be held on May 3 at Brown's Beach, Negombo.

Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation will conduct these trials from 9 a.m. All interested teams are requested to present themselves for trials.

Entries called for Junior Athletic Nationals

The Junior Athletic Nationals for boys and girls for age-groups under 16, 18, 20 and 23 will be conducted on June 4, 5 and 6 at Sugathadasa stadium. This year the Athletic Association has introduced a new event the 10 kilometre walk.

Entries for the event should be sent to Col. Sudath Madugalle, Chairman Competition Committee, Athletic Association Headquarters, 33, Torrington Avenue, Colombo 7 to reach him on or before May 20. BP

New Year sports festival

A New Year Sports Festival will be held for the sixth year at the M.H. Mohamed play ground Borella on Saturday.

The festival will be open for all and will include a large number of events. Valuable gifts will be on offer for the winners. Well known actors, actresses will be present at the presentation ceremony. The sports festival is hosted by Premajantha Kasthuriarachchi.
